What if you could do REAL WOODWORKING with a laser? Featuring the xTool P2

What if you could do ACTUAL FINE WOODWORKING with a laser cutter? No burnt edges, smooth round overs, thick beefy legs and using real wood. Note: the 45° angle isn't "super critical", but it IS very important. If it's off, the miters might join perfectly, but you'll discover that one piece is wider than the other and they don't match.

    I work for a company that makes industrial sensors, we get customers calling us because their sensor died, we get them in and they are copies made in Bangladesh and China. Sometimes it's obvious, they will spell the name of the company wrong or something else stupid like that. The disturbing part is that they will put hazardous duty rated labeling or a machine safety rating on their counterfit parts, and they aren't tested or really approved to be in an explosive area.

    For #3 pocket holes, you attached it incorrectly. The pocket holes should be placed on the outside, other side of the board (flipped around 180 degrees) otherwise it’s a weak joint and not properly done.

    When using the Brad nailer turn it 90 degrees. Brad nails are designed to turn left or right. This will reduce the chance of it coming out of the side and going into your fingers. Also make sure to add an angle it’ll make your joint stronger.

    I always get a bit of a kick seeing Nova tools overseas, as they're an NZ brand. They also supply the drills and lathes at discounted rates to schools in NZ (and Aussie I think). That little nub on the left hand side is for an interlocked chuck guard to meet safety requirements down these ways. Biggest waste of time ever. 😂

  • @MrIdiotkiwi

    Never mind what the "audiophiles" think, as often they think that a magical power cable (that costs thousands) makes a measurable difference to the output of the amplifier (when the amplifier is run normally). 😂 Never mind some of the crazier ideas like suspending your speaker wires on posts, so that back EMF from the nails/screws holding the flooring down don't affect the audio signal to the speakers. 😂 Chances are that your room isn't a perfect listening setup anyway, so as long as the speaker box is built well (and yours seems to be), it will sound just fine.

Would you consider doing a Wen upgrade video where you show us how you upgrade the things you don’t like? ie: track saw grip, miter saw dust collection, etc

  • @Malendryn

    There is one thing I see everyone doing when they create these sleds, (and for that matter aligning practically everything about a table saw) that I consider kinda a 'fatal flaw', and that is to align the back board with the blade. The blade always has a chance to be out of line with the table, even if only by a microfraction, so you're creating a sled that's misaligned from the start! The one and only TRUE alignment, is the miter slots themselves, this is the one thing that all measurements should be made from. Albeit it may be more difficult to do!

    • @MakeSomething

      Except for the fact that this has worked flawlessly for me for 10 years. 😁

    • @Malendryn
      @Malendryn 3 дня назад

      @@MakeSomething I didn't mean to imply anything! :) It's just that /everyone/ makes theirs off the blade. I don't think I've ever seen any video doing it off the miter slot! I absolutely love the design, and as I'm about to build my own cabinet I will be using parts of this video as a reference!

    That table saw looks like the portable DeWalt table saw my old boss owned. I remember turning it on for the first time, and being shocked by how loud that thing was. I actually immediately shut it down, because I was sure something must have been loose inside it. Nope, everything was as it should be. I've used many different jobsite table saws, and never heard one nearly as loud as that thing. I absolutely hated working with that saw, lol.

    there is not really a good fence for contractor saws. what you can do since you built the saw into a bench is to built or buy a better fence that is a part of the table and not the saw. You do have to be sure the saw is locked in place or easily precision adjusted if you choose to take that path.
